LEAGUE FOOTBALL.

FIXTURES FOR SATURDAY. Seniors.—Charity Cup final, Clive (holders) v. Westshore (challengers), Farndon Park, 3 p.m., Mr G. Ellison. Third Grade.—Westshore v. City, X’arndon Park 2 p.m., Mr L. Jeffares. WAIPAWA CRICKET CLUB. (Own Correspondent.) The annual meeting of the Waipawa Cricket Club was held on Wednesday evening, presided over by Mr. Harker. A large number were present and the feeling of the meeting was very optimistic as regards the prospects of the coming season. The balance-sheet, showing a debit of £B, was adopted. The position was considered satisfactory, considering a complete set of material had to be purchased last year and much of this still remains in good condition. The secretary said that there is every, likelihood of a splendid ground being available at Coronation Park for the coming season. The following officers were elected: — Patron, Sir George Hunter, M.P.; president. Mr. H. M. Rathbone; vice-pre-sidents, Messrs. T. Butler, W. H. Rathbone, A. E. Jull, A. G. McKay. F. N. Newham, C. Clark, E. Bibby, J. W. Bibbv, D. Scott. R. J. Pellow, F. Holt and F. W. Witherow; secretary and treasurer, Mr. A. Tate; general committee. Messrs. Wedde, Tate, Patterson, Pol hill, Pratlev, A. Williams, Harker and Shirley. Mr. Shirley was appointed chairman of the general committee. The following new members were proposed:—Messrs. D. Bovle, Eagle, E. Dunkin, Windle, and T. Colquohoun. Sub-committees were set up as follows: —Grounds: Messrs. Pratley, Williams, Wedde; selection: Messrs. Shirley, Tate, F. Polhill; delegates to association, Messrs. Shirley and Tate. Mr. Shirley was thanked for the donation of a new bat and Mr. Rathbone for donation of £l. A motion was passed that it be a recommendation to the committee to approach the District High School with a view to amalgamation with the Waipawa Cricket Club while retaining their identity. as_a school team for school matches, with power to fix the subscription (if any). It was also recommended that the club enter two teams in the competition this season. It was decided to fix the subscription at £1 for members over 21 years and 10/- for members under that age. Honorary members’ subscription was fixed at 5/-. Messrs. Harker, Tate, Shirley and F. Polhill were appointed a committee to raise funds and arrange for a fancy dress match and carnival on the opening day of the season.
