The voting fur the School Queen Carnival is progressing very satisfactorily and up to now the positions of the various candidates are as follows:— No. 2, Miss Gloria Chadwick, 2820; No. 1, Miss Pearl Cooper, 2660; No. 3, Miss Christie Groves 2480. There will be another count of votes on Thursday, find from then on until the voting closes at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23rd, the number of votes polled will be kepv secret. Persons desirous of donating towards the fund must, when so doing, state the amount they wish to donate, also the candidate to whom they wish their donation to go. A euchre party 55111 be held in the Hall at Whakatu on Saturday evening, and the result of the voting will be made known. The usual Tuesday night euchre party svill also be hehi Much enthusiasm is being shown as to who shall win and be queen of the school. A great number of books are at present out among the various schools in the district, and these when returned may have a very important bearing on the election.
