LONDON WOOL SALES. The following is a copy of a cable received by Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Napier, from their head office, London, dated 15th September. 1922:— 'Hie svool sales closed active with brisk competition, the principal operators being English and Scotch buyers. As compared with last sale’s closing rates; Merino wools, greasy 5 per cent to 10 per cent scoured, faulty 5 per cent higher. Crossbred wools, greasy, fine 10 per cent higher; good style 48’s and medium 10 per cent higher; 46-48’s and niedium 5 per cent to 7} per cent higher; 46’s unchanged; coarse irregular and unchanged except shabby sorts which are rather losver. Crossbred wools, scoured, fine 10 per cent higher; medium sto 10 per cent higher; coarse 5 per cent highei. Slipe wools, fine crossbred 5 to 10 per cent higher: medium and coarse eiossbred 5 per cent higher. Seventy-eight thousand bales free wool offered, including 12.000 Puntas and 50,000 Australasian. B.A.W.R.A. offered 105,000 Australasian and sold 12,000 Puntas. Continent took 36.000 Australasian and 6,000 Puntas. America 3.000 bales.

The Hawke’s Bay Farmers’ Co-op. , Association, Ltd., has received the following cable advice from their London ' office, dated 15th inst: — Wool sales closed to-day. Market ! strong excepting medium. Coarse of indifferent qualities. ' The N.Z.L. and M.A. Co., Ltd., have i received the following cable from their , office under date Septem- . her 15:—As compared with last sales i closing rates prices are higher. About 5 to 71 per cent for the following:— Greasy merino super and medium, fine greasy crossbred, medium seen red; ’ crossbred, about 7J to 10 per cent for scoured merino, super mednim and fine crossbred slipe, and fine scoured cross bred, about par to 5 per cent, for merino inferior and coarse scoured crossbred, about 5 per cent, for lambs, merino and crossbred. About the same for medium and coarse greasy crossbred and coarse crossbred slipe. The sales closed firmly to-day:—Me-rino 24d to 26d, merino average 20d to 24d, crossbred 50-58’« 16d to 20d, crossbred 48-50’s lid to 13d, crossbred 46-48’s Bjd to 10jd, crossbred 44-46’s 7jd o 9d. crossbred 40-44’s 4 3-4 d to 7 3-4 d., crossbred 36-440’s 6|d to 7 l-l d. Messrs Murray, Roberts and Coy., Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London house:—s6’s yielding 60 per cent, Is Bjd; 50’s yielding 65 per cent, Is IJd; 44-46’s prep, yielding 74 per cent, BJd; 44-46’s carding yielding 72 per cent, 7Jd; 44-46’s yielding 70 per cent, 7d; 36-40’s yielding 75 per cent, 6|d. PRODUCE SALE REPORT. <lil! Bros, report on business done at the Hastings stock and market sale on Saturday. We had large entries of all stock, sundries, etc., when the following prices were realised :—Poultry : Good table birds made up to 10s Bd, others 6s 10d to 9s 4d; laying hens 5s JOd to 9s 8d; cockerels 5s 6d to 8s 4d ; ducks 6s 8d to 10s 2d, all at per pair. We are now booking orders for chicks. Pigs: Weaners 15s to 18s Gd; »lips, light 15s 9d to 23s 3d; porkers 21s to 38s; haconers 58s. Dairy stock: S.H. Jersey heifer on drop £l3, do cow just in £ll, do £9. S.H. Holstein heifer just in £6 15s. Holstein cow in profit £7 10s, do £7, Holstein heifer, springing £B. General: Gen’t bike £7, saddles £6 15s, £2, set harness £6 10s. cow covers IBs 6d, baled lucerne Is, Is 6d and 3s 6d, dessert apples 2s 6d to 4s 9d seconds half case, oranges 2s 6d quarter case, onions 2Jd per lb, pumpkins 2s to 6s dozen, cob maize 7s to 9s, barley Ils, oats 14s, table potatoes Ils to 16s, pig do 2s 6d to 3s, seed do 10s to 14s cwt. We sold a quantity of odd harness, wheelbarrow, body and a-half of beef, a quantity of pork and general farm sundries at ruling auction rates. We want onions, good apples and sound table potatoes urgently. Beard, Bullen and Co. report having offered a fair penning of poultry, 91 pigs and a large yarding of dairy stock at their market sale on Saturday last and quote as follows: —Extra heavy table fowls made up to JOs, good to 8s 6d, lighter sorts 7s lOd to Bs, pullets Ils to 17s, ducks 7s to 12s, hens with broods 8s Gd to 14s. Pigs,: Good forward weaners made up to 19s 6d, others 8s for runts to Ils Gd, slips 16s to 23s Gd, L. porkers 25s Gd to 28s Gd. Dairy stock: 1 Holstein cow and calf £l3, 1 Jersey cross covv on drop £l6, 1 Jersey cross cow springing £ll 10s, 1 Jersey coav on drop £l3. 1 Jersey cow on drop £l2 7s Gd, 2 Shorthorn heifers at £2 17s Gd, 1 Shorthorn cow on drop £lO, Shorthorn Jersey cow springing £7 10s, 1 Holstein Jersey cow springing £9 12s Gd. 1 Holstein cow and calf £3 17s Gd. We disposed of a large quantity of corrugated iron, harness, and larin sundries at good prices. Fruit and produce ruling at recent quotations.
