PARK ISLAND COMMITTEE.

The bi-monthly meeting of the Park Island Old People’s Home Committee was held in Napier this morning. Mr. H. Hill presided. The master (Mr. Hay-Chapman) reported that for August the proceeds from farm and garden were £25 17s 4d, piggeries £26 Is lOd, poultry £9 6s sd, milk £lB Is Bd. Stock on hand is: Cows 7, horses 3, pigs 63. poultry 137. ducks. 81. The master reported that everything was very satisfactory at the home. The bank’s pass book was reported to show: August Ist, bank credit £965 16s. maintenance fees and pensions £313 Ils 2d. vouches and payments £490 8s 6d. unpresented cheques £1 10s. remaining credit £7BB Is Bd. After fully going into the management of the home the committee decided to re-appoint Mr. Hay-Chapman as master, with Miss Anderson as matron. Miss Anderson was previously assistant matron. On the recommendation of the finance committee the committee granted Miss Anderson a bonus and increased the salary of the engineer.
