OTANE HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY

The annual meeting of the above society was held in the Library on Thursday evening, Mr. J. N. Barrie presiding over a very large meeting. The balance-sheet showing a loss of £7 9s upon the last year’s working was read and adopted and it was decided to drop the autumn show this year and to include several of the autumn classes in the spring show—namely, the home industries, fancy work and cooking classes, Airs W. Clark( of Argyll, having presented a challenge cup for the latter. It was decided to hold the show on Wednesday, November 22nd.. and a schedule committee was elected to draw up the schedule at an early opportunity. The following officers were elected:—President. Mrs W. Clark: vice-presidents, Mesdames Barrie, Tiffen and Aliss L. Williams. Revd. G. Davidson and Me c, =rs R. H. Tod, A. Clark. J. Clark, Al. Barrie. W. Malenoir, W. A. Conner M. J. Langridge. G. Lanre, R. S. McAulay W. Goodrich. G. McKay. A. Cowlov and A. E. Bull; hon. auditor, Air R. H. White; secretary. Miss L. M. Clark; treasurer, Mr. J. N. Barrie.
