Dyer, S.M., coroner, held an inquest this morning at the Hastings Courthouse concrning the death of Erina Matikino Toki, the eight-months-old daughter of Keu Trangi Toki and Charles Toki. deceased. of Paki Paki It appeared that the mother took ill after the birth of the child, and the infant had to be looked after by re latives. The change of food seemed to do the child harm, and she spffered from stomach trouble. Three weeks ago the child became very ill and she died at 1 o’clock yesterday afternoon. Deceased received no medical attention. Dr. Bernard Samuel Storv gave evidence that he considered the cause of death was acute local peritonitis, primarily, and inanition secondarily, and the coroner returned a verdict in aci cordance wth the medical testimony, i
