WEATHER REPORTS.

WIDER DISTRIBUTION ASKED FOR (Special to “Tribune.”) Parliament Buildings, Sept. 15. Sir George Hunter urged the Minister of Marine to-day to accede to the request for a wider distribution of weather reports, so that farmers in all localities might have the benefit of them. He understood the Minister had reinstated some papers cut off, but asked him to extend the privilege further. The Hon G. J. Anderson replied that the Marine Department cut down the papers in the interests of economy, but lately reports had been sent out to all papers on the original list. The member possibly referred to small bi-wockly and tri-weekly papers. The Marine Department was satisfied if reports went to sports, but it realised the benefit of sending reports elsewhere. It felt however, that other departments inter’ ested should bear a part of the cost, and he was now* endeavouring to arrange this.
