CONFIDENCE IN COSCRAVE. REBELLION REPRESSION VINDICATED. GOVERNMENT JUSTIFIED IN STRIKING. (By Cable.—Press Asseciatiea.—Copyright.] (Received 14, 12.45 p.m.) Ixmdon. Sept. 13. The Dail Eireann adopted a resolution by 54 to 15 approving of thj action by the Government to vindicate the authority of the Southern Irish Parliament. The Labourites formed the minority. At the meeting of Dail Eireaun which carried a vote of confidence in Mr. Cosgrave. Mr. Johnson (Labour) condemned the action of the Government in imprisoning without trial hundreds of citizens taking up arms. Mr. Hogan, Minister for Agriculture, declared that Nationalist troops had been too ready to take prisoners, and officers were shot with dumdums in the Maryborough ambush immediately they put up their hands. The real cause of unemployment in Ireland was the deliberate destruction of the economic life of the country by men in arms against Parliament. Mr. Cosgrave, warmly defending the Government’s repression policy, said the Government was right in striking when they did. It is reported from Dublin that de Valera conferred with the Commander-in-Chiew, Mr. Mulcahy, who told him there would be no peace until arms were surrendered.—(Reuter.) ,
