CLEANER BANK NOTES COMING.
(Special to “Tribune.”) Wellington, Sept. 13. Many pleas have been made in the past for better hank notes and at last it seems as though success is near. Mr. Mackenzie (Auckland East) asked the Minister of Finance to-day whether he thought New Zealand banknotes, >at present issued, wer© sufficiently clean and substantial for a self-re-specting British dominion, and whether he would ask the banks to issue smaller, firmer and deaner notes. The Minister said he already had been in communication with banking authorities with regard to this matter, and he was now' informed that arrangements were being made to issue smaller and cleaner notes than those in circulation. i*
