H.B. HOSPITAL BOARD.

The monthly meeting of the H.B. Hospital Board was held in Napier yesterday. Mr J. B. Andrew' presided. Reports showed: Patients in hospital 114 males, 86 females. Of these 28 are infectious cases. Twenty-one major, and forty minor operations were per* formed during the month. Ninq e babies were born at McHardy Home during August. The board’s cash book at August 31st showed: Receipts: Levies and fees £3621, debit balance and unpresentqd cheques £13373 11s 4d; expenditure dhbit balance £11822 16s Id, unpresented cheques £6l 18s Id, vouchers £5109 19s The secretary reported that the inspecting account had visited the hospital in response to the request of the board. The inspecting house steward would go through the hospital with the new staff shortly. A large amount of formal correspondence was received. A special committee was set up to go into a report from the department on the board’s lighting and steam services.
