TAKAPAU.
(Own Correspondent.) The annual meeting of the Takapau Advancement Association was held in the Public Library on Friday evening, Mr J. Maudsley presiding. Sir Geo. Hunter, who was in Takapau to preside at the annual meeting of the Caledonian Society which was held later, on the same evening, was present at the meeting, and was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for the wky in which he had recently advanced the objects of the association. The report (Mr W. Cuthbertson) and the balance-sheet (Mr H. E. Anstice) were read and received. A committee was elected and yearly subscriptions were collected. Matters in connection with increased and extended telephonic communication and railway facilities, etc., were placed before Sir George Hunter, who promised to do what he could to have the requests acceedcd to. A vote of thanks to the chair terminated the meeting.
