H.B. WAR RELIEF.

BRANCH RETURNS. The monthly meeting of the Hawke’s Bay War Relief Association was held last evening at Naapier, when Mr John Harding occupied the chair. The following branch returns were adopted:— Dennovirke £693 2s 6d, Hastings £207 0s 3d, Waipukurnu £334 17s 6d, £l4l 2s, Napier £2Ol 4s 4d, Waipawa £35 ss, Woodville £623. a total of £2235 12s 7d. Contributions received since last meeting totalled £1241 18s lOd. Assistance granted since last meeting totalled £773 5s and was made up as follows:—Dannevirke £243 16s 7d, Hastings £lB7 3s, Woodville £7B, Waipukurau £lBl Is 3d, Waipawa 15s, Napier £B2 9s 2d, Loans to soldiers and dependants were distributed ns follows:—Dannevirke £325, Hastings 10s, Woodville £540, Waipukurau £270, Waipawa £lO, Napier £4O. a total of £llB5 10s. The sum of £153 5s 6d was expended in payments on account of other societies. Advances refunded by soldiers and dependants were as follow:—Dannevirke £154 18s 4d, Hastings £42 12s 4d. Takapau £125, Wairoa £2, Woodville £5B 2s Bd, Waipawa £33 6s Bd, Napier £29 2s Bd, a total of £445 2s Bd. Refunds: On account of Dannevirke £57 2s 2d, Waipukurau £43 5s 6d, Napier £43 Ils, total £143 18s Bd.
