LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
MATCHES AT HASTINGS TOMORROW. Hastings supporters of the League code will be given an opportunity tomorrow afternoon of seeing two firstclass teams in action—South Auckland and Hawke’s Bay. Last Saturday at Napier, Hawke’s Bay succeeded in gaining a victory over the Auckland team by the narrow margin of two points, while at Hamilton recently the northerners beat the Hawke’s Bay touring team with the same score, so to-morrow’s contest will decide the “rubber.” Hawke’s Bay will be without the services of Exeter, who played such a sterling game on Saturday, because of knee trouble, but* a good, strong team lias been assembled, and will make Auckland go their hardest.
