DISTRESS SIGNALS.
SCOW BELIEVED IN TROUBLE. Auckland, Sept. 11. Distress signals have been reported off Reef Point, north of Hokianga county. A tug has left Whangape to render assistance, but reported that no trace of vessel or wreckage was seen. Very dirty weather was experienced. Another trip is being made to-day. It is believed the signals may have come from the scow Kapua. owned by McCallum Brothers. Auckland. An Auckland telegram says in connection with the distress signals and mention of the scow Kapua it has been ascertain that the vessel is still at Her ekino.—(Press Association).
