NAPIER POLICE COURT.
TO-DAY’S SITTING
(Before Mr. R. W. Dyer, S.M.) Mr. R. W. Dyer, S.M., presided at this morning’s sitting of the Napier Police Court. « Theft:—C. L. A. Payne alias Collins pleaded guilty to theft of a bicycle valued at £5 from, Palmerston North, two rugs valued at £4 from Hastings, and a cheque drawn for £4 at Napier. Accused had a previous list, having previously come from the M aereroa Training Farm. Accused was sentenced to reformative treatment for a period not exceeding two years. An order was made that the goods be returned provided the second-hand deaLY was paid 10/- concerning the bicycle and 13/- for the rugs, by the owners. Motor Offence.— Stanley Hay pleaded guilty bv letter to driving a car without a rear light, and made an explanation. A fine of £1 with 7/- costs wws inflicted. A. A. Penfold explained why his lights were not showing, dhe usua. fine was inflicted. Wandering Stock. —George McDonald did not appear to answer a charge of allowing two horses to wander. N. J. Wakely was charged similarly in two cases, and Thomas Howell was charged with allowing a cow to wander. McDonald was fined £2 w th costs £1 Ils, and the others were treated 'Similarly. His Worship indicated that the fines would be increased in future.
