Companies registered in London Anriw the past six months reached the unprecedented total of 5415, with * capital of £252,000,000, of which the teartile and clothing industries represent £30,000.000, mines £24,000,000, shipping £22.000.000. banks and financial companies £22,000,000, oil f 2O /*’ o’***’’ 0 ’***’’ motors £18,000,000. food £14,000,000, insurance £10,000,000, cinemas £6.000.000. Forty-eight of the commmen have an aggregate capital of £90,000.000 compared with 1913 when only twenty-one companies had over a million capital. The average capital in 1913 was £21,000, and in 1919 £45,000. A number of compamM are based on profitsharing and co-partnership. (A. and NTZ. and Reuter.)
