The Red forces in Russia are sweeping rapidly towards the Caucasus, pursuing General Denikin’s Caucasus army, which is struggling to escape southward towards Ekaterinador. It is fighting heavy rearguard actions, but another Red army marching north of the Don threatens to ent it off. The Ukraine front is less active. The “Daily Mail” reports that General Denikin’s scattered forces are now on the verge of annihilation and are driven into the fastnesses of the Caucasus mountains. —(United Service.)

The Lettish Government claims that its troops defeated the Bolsheviks on a wide front in Dwina sector breaking the enemy line, crossing the Dwina and taking many prisoners.
