New official prices include: Flour 7Jd per lb, bread ©i, potataea 2Jd- Potatoes are in short supply and a lull ration is not available and they may be exhausted altogether in MarchButter is 12/4 per lb, representing a rise of 100 per cent; margarine 6/5. meat 4/3 (the ration being half a pound weekly). There is an acute shortage of coal and the majority of houses seem to be without coal. Briquettes are selling at 145/- per ton.—(A. and N.Z.)
