NO U.S. LOAN.
CONTEMPLATED BY BRITAIN. New York, Jan. 4. The British Acting-Consul-General Watson, has published a statement from’ the British Treasury pointing out that Sir George Paish does not represent the British Treasury, and that Britain does not contemplate borrowing a single dollar for the purpose of loaning to Europe. (A. [A message yesterday stated that Sir George Paish suggested a long dated loan from the United States to Europe for the purpose of adjusting the exchange.)
