MURDER EPIDEMIC.
WOMEN FATALLY STABBED. LOVE AND MADNESS. London, Dec. 27. Magistrates and the police are commenting on the continued prevalence of capital crimes. The latest examples include the mysterious murder of Kathleen Breaks, a young and beautiful married woman who was stabbed in the neck and head. Her body was found on a loner* beach between Blackpool and Stan-nes-on-Sea. Frederick Rothwell Holt, a young man and a former army officer, has been arrested and charged with the murder. Another strange case is reported from Liverpool. Bella Wilson, a middle-aged woman, was found in the street with several stabs. Her body was nude, her clothes being piled near by. It is believed that she was murdered by a madman. Investigation by “The Times into the Breaks murder indicates that death was lingering, and due to shock, los of blosd and exposure, extending for many hours. The loneliness of the scene of the crime left only the slenderest hope oi timely discovery. The dead woman has been separated from her husband for 18 months, and the tragedy is apparently the result of a love affair.
