Miss Grant, of Woodville, who has been spending a few days in Napier, returned home by the express to-day. Mr. John Wilson, the well-known Gisborne architect and a prominent bowler, aged 74, took ill last night and died early this morning. By the express tram this morning Dr. Leahy left for Dunedin, where he will conduct the pathological examination of the New Zealand University. The pulpit of the Rev. J. A. Aston, Napier, who is leaving this morning on a fortnight’s holiday in the South, will be occupied for the next two Sundays by the Rev. J. Patterson. Mr. N. Wotton, lately of the advertising staff of the “Hawke’s Bay Tribune,” left by this morning’s express for Palmerston North, where he will spend a short holiday prior to commencing work with the "Hawke’s Bay Herald.” The estate of John Clark, grazier of Boggabri, N.S.W., has been sworn at over £l»7,Doi'. Captain Clark, private secretary to Lord Islington, is one of the executors. The whole estate left to the widow ami children. Bishop Wai:i>. who is shortly to be succeeded by the Rev. T. H. h’prott as Bishop of Wellington, left by the Arawa yesterday for London, accompanied by Mrs. Wallis. A large number of people were on the wharf to see them off. Before leaving Bishop Wallis was present* ed with a cheque for £260 subscribed by the church people of the diocese.
