MEMBERS OF ROAD BOARD FINED. [PER PRESS ASSOC lATION. J Taihape. Dec. 14. The chairman and two members of Upper Wangaehu Road Board were proceeded against by another member of the Board to-day for breach of Section 65 of the Road Boards Act —voting on a question in which they were personally :n--terested. The S.M. inflicted a fine of &4 each and costs, the amount of the fine being based on the expense of a new election, as the defendants will lose their seats on the Board. The point in question was the voting of a sum for expenses of a deputation to Wellington, authorised bv the Board. The S.M. decided that the members were entitled to the money, but they did not go the right way to work to get it.
