A WELCOME HOME.
MR LYSNAR AT GISBORNE. [per association.] Gisborne, Dec. 14. Mr Lysnar. Mayor of Gisborne, who returned from England today, whither he had proceeded to float a municipal loan, received a public welcome, being met on landing by a large crowd with a band. He was escorted to the Viet >’ia Belfry and there congratulatory speeches were made. Mr Lysnar mentioned that he had brought back a contract signed by the Edison Storage Battery Company for municipal trams, also Edison s guarantee, and if the Council approved of the installation it could be gone on with immediately.
