ELECTORAL LAW.
Sydney. Dec. 13. The Electoral Act Amendment Bill introduced into the Legislative Assembly reduces the. residence qualifications to three months in the State and one month in the voter’s electorate. Polling is always to take place on a Saturday, and the booths are to be’kept open till 8 o’clock at night. Greater facilities are afforded to get on the rolls. Members of the permanent naval and military forces and inmates of charitable institutions are allowed to Vote.
A LONG SITTING.
(Received’!!. 10.20 a.m.) Sydney. Dee. 14. The Assembly sat throughout the night. During the debate on the Electoral Bill an exciting scene took place. During one of the divisions Mr. Price accused Mr. Neilson, Minister of Lands, of "Greasing the fat man.” Air. Neilson replied that he would “punch his nose,” and rushed at Mr. Price. The Premier and others interfered. Mr. Neilson contented himself -with using an expression which called for withdrawal and apology.
