RUSSIA.
(Received April 24, 1.30 p.m.) St. Petersburg, April 23. The semi-official Journal de St. Petersburg, in an article on the Afghan question to-day, expresses a conviction that Sir Peter Lurasden's report to the British Government of the recent fighting was derived from Afghan sources, and further states that the Russian Government place complete reliance on General Komaroff a rejjort of the proceedings. The article concludes with a hope that peace may be still looked for.
