BELFAST CLAIM.
I was shown yesterday evening some specimens taken from the above claim, which I have seldom seen surpassed. The gold runs through the stone in bands of nearly solid metal in some pieces of a rich yellow color. In one piece weighing nearly lOlbs., the gold was to be seen on all sides of it, and from its great weight no doubt it contained a large per centago of the precious metal. There is at present about 3501b5. of specimens on hand, and large quantities are being taken out every day. Yesterday a small leader was cut in the drive which is following up the present leader. This feeder is only about two inches wide, but gold can be seen running through the stone, and some very nice pieces were shown to me by the manager. It is intended to have a crushing of general stone during this week at GfoodaU's Prince Alfred battery.
