Twenty-first Birthday

Largely=Attended Matapu Party

On Tuesday evening Mr and Mrs W. A. Guy entertained over 100 guests to celebrate the coming-of-age of their youngest son, Edgar. The evening wasspent in dancing, while non-dancers played cards, prizes being won by Mrs Blair (Okaiawa) and Mrs Drake (Okaiaiva); Mr E. Startup and Mr J. Reid. Winners of novelty dances were Miss Rowlands and Mr L. Preece and Miss Rowlands and Mr R. Thomas. Items were contributed 1 by Misses Ella Guy and Wilma Man- (Kaponga),. Highland dancing, and Master Eric Harrison, violin solo. Mr W. Foreman, on behalf of those present, wished Mr Guy many happy returns of the day, to which the guest of honour responded. The toast of the host and hostess was proposed bv Mr L. Preece and was replied to by Mr W. A. Guy. Music for dancin'’’ was supplied by Misses M. Guy, 13." Seed and W. Startup and Mr H. Hansen. , , Mr W. Stevenson, headmaster ot the Matapu School, is confined to Ins home.
