TROTS ABANDONED

DECISION AT CARTERTON. CLUB CONSERVING- ITS FUNDS. (By Telegru;*.' -Frea* Association.) CARTERTON, To-day. At a meeting last evening of stewards the Waira'rapa Trotting Club decided after a lengthy discussion in committee not to hold the March meeting. This decision was carried by nine votes to seven, the majority considering it better to conserve the club’s funds until the time comes when it can run a meeting and show a profit, as the club races two days and has used one already. Financial members are to be circularised that they can secure a rebate of half their subscriptions. General regret is expressed here that the meeting is not to be held.
