QUADRUPLETS AT DUNEDIN
THREE GIRLS AND A BOY. CHILDREN EXPECTED TO LIVE'. (By Trtegrapli—Press Association 3 DUNEDIN, March 6. 7'or what is believed to be the first time in the history of New Zealand, quadruplets, three girls and a boy, were born in the Dunedin hospital to-niglit. The event was known to doctors beforehand because, when the mother was admitted to hospital on February 25, an X ray examination disclosed the position.
Though the birth was six weeks premature, a doctor said it w r as a normal del’very and there was every prospect of the infants’ survival.
The boy was born first, weighing 41b ldoz, and then the girls, 41b soz, 31b 15 o i arid the last 41b 9oz.
Mr and Mrs George Johnson, Die p:m,l parents, were married 30 years ag 3 and already have two girls aged eight and six, while five years ago they lost a baby three days old.
