RURAL COAIPETITION
NGAERE DEFEATS NORM A N BY. Playing at Ngaere in the Rural Cricket Competition on AA 7 ednesday Ngaere defeated Normanby by 10 wickets in a one-inning’s match. Normanby batted first and totalled 53 runs, E. Gane, R. Hunger and H. Hughes being the only batsmen to reach double figures. The opening batsmen for Ngaere, R. Bocock and Bonner, passed Normanby’s total undefeated, the former scoring 43 and the latter 15. AA'et weather marred the play, the ball becoming very difficulty to handle. GRATA AVa MAORIS AVIN.
At Eltham, the Okaiawa. Maori team defeated Mangamingi by five wickets in the first innings. Mangamingi batted first and made CO, and the Maoris wiped this off in quick time, their opponents being unfortunate—having a greasy ball to handle, as rain began to fall half-way through the game.
