The St. Mark’s Anglican annual har- ; vest festival sale of produce was car--1 ried out at the Parish Hall on Tues- | day evening, when there was a very fair attendance. The Ladies’ Guild organised a flag 500 tournament in conjunction with the festival and some nine tables were taken up. The prizes were won by Mesdames Dawson, I Brewer and Mr and Mrs R. E. Williams. The “floating” prizes were | taken by' Mrs Boyle, Misses Bertie and Guppy' and Mr R. Herbert. Mr Allan . Betts was the auctioneer and supper ! was served by' the Guild ladies. The competition for a “ dinner” was not concluded and the result will be announced later. PERSONALS. Miss M. Kehcley, of Messrs Newton j King’s staff, is at present on annual ■ holidays. Miss Kcheley is visiting Palmerston North. | Mr and Mrs J. P. Gibson are holidaymaking at Paraparaumu Beach. They are accompanied by Miss M. O’Neill. Mr and Mrs D. Cameron arc leaving for Ojvato, where they' will reside in future. WOMEN’S INSTITUTE. The usual monthly meeting of the Kaponga Women’s Institute held at the Parish Hall on Tuesday afternoon was well attended. The president, Mrs R. D. Dagg, presided. Nominations were received for the annual election of officers which will take place at the annual meeting to be held on March 1&. It was decided that the local-insti-tute would have a court in the pantry' section at the Hawera Winter Show in June next. Information was received that Mrs W. Kaye, of Inglewood, the president of the Taranaki Federation of Women’s Institutes, will attend the annual meeting.
