MATCH AGAINST WELLINGTON i WHITELAW UNBEATEN AT 44 (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, To-day. The weather was dull and hot for the Plunket Shield match and the wicket was hard. Auckland won the toss and batted first. Blundell appealed unsuccessfully for l.h.w. against Whitelaw with the first ball of the match and in the second over Trieklebank I eat the same batsman with a good length ball that skimmed past the leg stump. Trieklebank, with the wind oe raid him, was a little faster than Blundell, but the latter was swinging and his first four overs were maidens.
