SEARCH FOR SCREEN TYPES
TESTS NEXT WEEK AT HAWERA. For the test for screen types to bo conducted at the Hawera Opera House on Wednesday, Thursday and I ntlaj next the management has received entries’from Pihamn, El.tham, and other parts of South Taranaki, as well as Hawera. The tests will he carried out by Dr. A. L. Lewis, of Hollywood, the discoverer of Janet Gaynor, and the idea behind the tests is to try and discover material for films to be .oade m New Zealand. The tests have proven very popular, everywhere they Lave been conducted in New Zealand and j in New Plymouth the first night there, were 40 aspirants for the tests. No experience is necessary, hut at the. same time those who have had expel l- : ence in dramatics should have sonic I advantage, and in addition should gam valuable experience from the tests, which will he given them by the Doctor. Dr. Lewis is an ex-director of the Hollywood Riotary Club. Entrv forms are available at the Opera ‘House, and applicants are requested to make application at least two davs before the tests commence.
