BREACHES OF TRAFFIC RULES
MOTORISTS IN ELTHAM COURT. FAILURE TO HOLD LICENSES. For riding a motor-cycle without a license, and for failing to give way to a vehicle approaching from the right, James Heath was charged in the Eltham Magistrate’s Court yesterday before Mr. W. H. Woodward. S.M. On each charge he was fined £1 and 10s costs. In prosecuting, Sergeant Henry said Heath and a pillion rider were riding on to Mountain Rioad from Anderson Road at the time of the accident. They waited for one car to pass, but emerged on the intersection as another car, driven by a man named Woolliams, was approaching. A collision occurred between the two vehicles. There ufis no question oi excessive speed, said the sergeant. There was a high hedge, that no doubt obstructed the views of both drivers. ■ In defence, Heatli said he did not think the accident was his fault. He saw the first car coming, but the second ear was smaller and ho could not see it because ot the hedge. He had now taken out a license.
DRIVING WITHOUT LICENSE. On a. charge of employing a. hoy named Beg. Thorne to drive a motor lorry without Thorne holding a motordriver’s license, L .Symmans pleaded guilty and was fined £1 and 10s costs. The borough solicitor, Dir. Weir, said that the boy was employed on a milk delivery and sometimes he drove the vail. As he was under 15 years ot age he could not lie given a driver’s license. A hoy of that age did not have proper control of a vehicle. A youth named K. Horrocks was ordered to pay 10s costs for riding a bicycle without a. light. The offence was admitted. It was -stated that Horrocks attended the pictures, alter which he jumped on his bicycle and rode through the traffic without a light-
