Consumption remains good, and though imports in March were nearly 4-7,000 tons, a. now monthly record, there has been a slight reduction in cold-stored stocks. How the consumption of butter has increased in late years at the expense of margarine was shown in a sjjeoch by the chairman of one of the great margarine producing companies, who said the yearly consumption of butter per head of t-lie population bad steadily risen from 16.71 bin 1928 to 23.91 b iu 1933, while in the same period the consumption, of margarine decreased from 13.21 b to 8.41 b. AUSTRALIAN EXPORT PRICES. WELLINGTON. April 29. ’Plie Dairy Board has been advised by the Australian board that it has fixed the minimum prices for Australian butter for forward shipment to the United Kingdom in the coming week at B|d and 8 3-sd.
