RECOVERY IN HAURAKI GULF.

(By Telegraph —Press Association.) AUCKLAND, April 29. The operations of divers and the use of motor-boats were successful n retrieving a torpedo which had been lost from H.M.S. Diomede during exercises in the Hauraki Gulf. The torpedo is of a type used by the New Zealand cruisers and is valued at over £2009. A search until dark on Friday was fruitless, but operations were resumed on Saturday. The course which the torpedo should have taken was more or less accurately known and divers' were sent down from the Diomede at a spot calculated beforehand. After a while they found the torpedo in the mud.
