HAWERA BENEDICTS’ CLUB

THEATRE PARTY AND DANCE. END 1 OF 1933 SEASON. The 1933 season of the Haiwera Benedicts’ Club was concluded last evening when the members attended a theatre performance at the Opera House and afterwards 'a> supper and dance at the Rewa tearooms, which has been the venue of a number of other delightful club functions held during the winter months. The season thus concluded is the second which members have enjoyed folloAving the happy inspiration of Mrs Walter Syme early last year, which led to the club’s inception. Altogether 52 couples were present, including several visitors and the members of Wills’. Melody makers Orchestra, who were entertained specially in appreciation of their services rendered during the season. After supper, the orchestra very generously took its accustomed place and provided music tor dancing. . , r „ „ r During the evening Mr. G. YV. Powdrell expressed appreciation of the efforts of Mr and Mrs P. O. Veale m carrying on the activities of the club so successfully and, on behalf of members, asked their acceptance of small tokens of gratitude. Among those present were Mr and Mrs J. W.
