HAWERA LADIES’ CLUB OFFICIAL. CLOSING DAY Yesterday was a very interesting day on the Ha.wera golf links, when the Ladies’ Club held the official closing ceremony of the season. Competitions played during the afternoon were won as follow: Medal round, .senior, Miss A. Wills (7G nett), junior, Miss Spence (73 nett) • long driving, .senior, Mrs Seyb (Stratford), junior, Airs Rutherfurd (Stratford); putting, visitors, Mrs Fy.son, close, Mrs Davy; putting and approaching, senior, Mi'ss Burgess, junior, Miss Ryan. The president (Aliss E. Burgess) briefly reviewed the club’s successful ■season and congratulated the winners of trophies. She said the season had been one of the best and the club was indebted to the committee and lion, secretary (Mrs W. A. Fendall). Miss Burgess referred to the great improvement in the course and commended the men’s committee and the caretaker for their efforts.
Mrs S. ‘C. Tonks then presented trophies won during the season as follow: Senior championship.—Miss C. G. Robertson; runner-up, Mrs Riota. Junior championship.—Mrs Ward; runner-up, Airs Rudge. To mark the appreciation of the club of the good work done by Airs W. A. Fendall and Aliss G. Death as joint lion, .secretaries of the tournament, a presentation was made to them by the president on behalf of . the club.
