HAWERA INTER-CLUB MATCH

GLENHOLM Y. HAWERA

The first match between the Glenholm and Hawera Badminton Clubs was played on the Winter Show courts last night. The tournament provided a most enjoyable evening, the big hall presenting a colourful scene. The challenge was fought out by men players, but as the Hawera Club includes lady members a- round of mixed doubles was also played. Mr R. Syme welcom'd the Gleuholm players and Mr R. H. Leece replied on behalf of the visitors and later thanked tlie ladies for the provision of supper. Neither club was able to produce its best players on the night, owing lo several being absent from town The singles resulted in a win for Glenliolm by seven sets to two and tlie visitors aTso won the doubles by three sets to two.
