Damage amounting to £IOO,OOO was done by a mysterious fire which de stroyed the Fairey Aviation Com pany’-s experimental works at Hamb e fast night In the works were ten of the world’s fastest seaplanes which ■were being tested before delivery to the fleet air arm. One was sa X ed - The fire originated in the mam omce and spread so rapidly that the huge wooden building was a burning, mass before the brigades could get to woik. The oOft. flames were seen 20 miles away.
