The dog made another attack on me, but his master called him off. When I told Mr Monteith that his dog had bitten me he told me to go home and that I was cheeky.” ' , “The dog does not seem to be under proper control,” s.ai.d William Matthews, a tramway motorman. Witness said that on two occasions lie had been attacked by the animal and was afraid of it. He was now' obliged to walk on the other’ side of the road. The dog; had also rushed at a tradesman and had snatched a parcel from his hand. Counsel for defendant said it was denied that the dog had not been under control and that it had bitten the girl. However, the animal had now been sent to a farm and would not return to the city. The magistrate, Mr F. K. Hunt, convicted and discharged defendant upon pavment of expenses, £1 3s 6d. “Let me know if that dog ever comes back,” said Mr Hunt, addressing the witness Matthews. “Yes, sir,” he replied.
