STOPPED BY THUNDERSTORM HOME TEAM’S SECOND STRIKE THREE WICKETS FOR 115 RUNS (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Received 11 a.m. to-day. GAINSBOROUGH, June 19. A thunderstorm delayed the resumption of the New Zealand versus Minor Counties cricket game, play commencing after lunch. The wicket, which was covered during the morning, played easily. After 110 minutes of play, with the Counties at 115 for three wickets, a further thunderstorm interrupted the game and caused the match to be abandoned as a draw. The weather was not favourable for cricket, being ■bitterly cold.
The New Zealand .bowling lacked sting, although Lowry again proved a successful change bowler. Homer batted soundly for the Counties, driving powerfully. Mills’ batting success of the previous day was most gratifying in view of the proximity, of the Test. He drove with' refreshing freedom and, with. .Mw’itt,.- jyas. , responsible.
