SUNDAY SERVICES
HAWERA CHURCHES. At St. John’s Presbyterian Church, Hawera, to-morrow the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper will be dispensed at both services. The subject of the Rev. R. E. Evans in the morning will be “The Quietening influence of the Christian Life.’’ Two solos will be sung by Air. C. Lamb, both being excerpts from Handel’s “Messiah,’’ “Thy Rebuke hath broken His Heart” and “Behold and See.” In the evening Mr. Evans’ subject will be “Heaven and Earth confer re the Death of Jesus.” The subject is taken from Luke 9. verse 31. The title of the evenging anthem is “God so loved the world.” Another excerpt from Handel’s “Messiah,” “He was despised,” will be sung by Miss M. Sunderland. The usual retiring collection for “Dorcas” will be made at both services.
At the Baptist- Church, Hawera, tomorrow Rev. T. Keith Even will conduct-' both services. At the morning service lie will take as his subject “Faith in vigorous development. ' and in the evening “The Impregnable Garrison of Ponco.” Visitors will )>p wolcome at both services.
