Fail-ball, chief surveyor in the Lands Department at Invercargill, who- litis just retired on superannuation, was for many years practising in Hawera. He was in partnership with the late Mr H. W. Climie.
The Independent Labour Party has elected Mr. A. Fenner Brockway chairman, states a London cable. Mr. Brockway is the Labour member of the House of Commons for East Leyton. Mr. C. G. Porter, the famous All Black footballer, lias left New Zealand. He departed recently and his future movements are not known. It is rumoured that he will settle in Vancouver.
