Examination by technical officers of the Canadian National Railways and consideration by the Board of Directors in consultation with the Canadian Government will precede any announcement by the railway president, Sir Henry Thornton, on the attitude of the company toward the proposed amalgamation of the commercial telegraph systems of the Canadian National and Canadian Pacific lines. He admitted to-day that the amalgamation was under consideration in connection with the proposed merging of the Canadian wireless and cable systems into a single system.
