N.D.A. CONFERENCE
COM JAN Y LEGISU AT 1 ON. (By Telegraph —Special to "The Star.'*) HAMILTON, June 26. The N.D.A. conference yesterday was engaged upon the consideration of remits in the morning, while the afternoon was taken up by addresses given by Messrs J. Bine (acting-chairman of the Dairy Produce Board), M. H. Cunningham (solicitor to tlie board) and ]>. O. Veale (the Taranaki Federation’s dairy scientist). The addresses were listened to with interest and numerous questions were asked and answered. At the conclusion of Mr. Cunningham’s address the following resolution was adopted: “That in the opinion of this conference it is in the interests of co-operative dairy companies that legislation should bo passed enabling such companies, by issuing a special resolution as provided by tlie Companies Act, 1908, to amend any of their articles of association, whether of a, contractural nature or not, so that such amendment, when properly passed, binds all the shareholders.” Mr. Veale’s subject was “Water,” and in the course of his replies to numerous questions he gave practical advice regarding the improvement of individual water supplies.
