The tragedy recalls the death of Captain Motta in August at the same spot. That crash led the Italian Government to seek- unsuccessfully a postponement of the Schneider Cup race. WarrantOfficer Dal Molin, who was 27 years of age, was second in the race, in which British fliers were first and third.
