EMPIRE FARMERS ON TOUR
ARRIVALS THIS YEAR. The policy of sending mutual invita-; tions to and from the various parts oi the Empire to farmers has heen received everywhere with the greatest enthusiasm/ It is certain much gooo must follow, not only in dissemination of farming knowledge and experience, but also in acquainting people’ from overseas of wffa.t was going on in the sister dominions, and giving them a knowledge of one another that must be of advantage to the Einpire generally. There have been several ocean tours and a number of small ones in New Zealand. Now this Dominion is preparing to welcome farmers truly repre, sentative of tlie Old Oountry and *of two of the largest dominions, Canada and South Africa. Not a great deal is yet known ot the men coming from the dominions, but the list of British farmers coming is most representative. The fact that so many counties of England and parts of Scotland* are represented will appeal to nfen here who migrated from the ,01d Band years ago. When they ««*e. that Essex, Yorkshire, Cumberland. Kent, Norfolk, Herts, Bedfordshire, Sussex, Devon, Norwich, 'Gloucester, Suffolk, Lancashire, Bristol, Birmingham, Rugby Middlesex, Lincoln (in England), Argyll, Edinburgh, Kelso and Dumfries (in Scotland) have all sent men they will look forward keenly to meeting them, hearing something first hand of the parts from which they themselves came and “swopping” experiences and methods that will he of the greatest A'alue. It will also tend to kindle in the men out here the desire to go Home when the grand tour is arranged, as is pretty certain in the near future, to see the Old .Country farms and towns once more.
