PATEA.
There was a record attendance of lady members at the golf links on Wednesday, when a flag match was played in conjunction with a L.G.U. medal round. Miss K. Hurley (handicap 26) was successful in carrying her flag to the IStli green nvithin ten feet of the hole. This lady- member is only in her second season and i's a most promising player. Miss F. Boagev was the winner in the second division. Mr C. E. Iloneyfield has notified the secretary of liis intention to close the links for a fortnight after this week-end, owing to the lambing season. A very industrious evening was spent by tlie members of the Anglican 'Girls’ Club on Wednesday at Mrs Roberts’ homo. More contributions were received for the box of finished work, which is now becoming a very nice, assortment. The next meeting was arranged to be held at Mrs Finlay’s home on ithe 27th of this month. Mr and Mrs W. Morse .and Mr Gordon -Morse left Patea on Thursday, Mr Quickenden taking over the proprietorship of the Central Hotel.
