OEO SPORTS CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING. There was a fair attendance of mem- , bers at the Oeo Sports Club present at! the annual meeting which was held last night, Mr Chas. Jones being in the chair. The statement of accounts was presented and showed that there was a loss lof £2O on the year’s working. The principal items of revenue- were:—• Tickets, £9 11s, gates, £lB 6s; doors (dance), £ls 11s; luncheon booth, £11; sweets, etc., £9; fees, £9 18s; hoop-la, i £6 14s Gd; competitions, £l7 3s; stall, £10; sundries, £9 9s Gd; total, £ll6 13s 7d. The expenditure included: P. E. Hammonds, £7 15s; C. Abbott, £4 15s lOd; music, £4 10s; Levin £ Co., £5 16s lid; Ivaupokonui Store, £5 14s 2d; band, £6; prizes, £4O 15s; Aldie & Go., £8 10s; A. Yarrow, £6 7s lOd; Johnston and Co., £6 12s 6d; advertising and printing, £l2 4s 8d; sundry expenses, £27 12s 3d; total, £136 14s. 2d. The society has, however, a- credit ba-lanco of £29 13a lOd. It was explained by the chairman that last year the weather experienced 1 on the day of the sports was very bad, and this had militated considerably against -the success of the function. It vva-s felt that with a line day the sports would have been a complete success. ELECTION OE OFFICERS. The following officers were elected for the coming year: Chairman, Mr C. Jones; hon. secretary, Mr M. T. Saywell; hon. treasurer, Mr F. Cummins. I' All present were elected an executive with poiver to. add. Messrs E. J. Henwood, R. Hughes, W. Harris, R. Hikaka, R. Ro-ngonui, E. - Edwards, W. Ruakere, W. Minhinnick, T. Manu and A. Hughes were elected to the general committee, and the remainder of the last year’s committee who were absent were re-elected. DATE OF SPORTS. It was decided to apply for Wednesday, April 24, as the elate of the sports meeting, and also .to make application for permission to run a seven-a-sido Rugby tuorney. GENERAL. It was agreed that the programme be the same as last year, witli the elimination of the cycling events and the goalkicking contests. It was decided that Air Hammonds ’ cup be allocated to the 120 yards, tlio J trophy -to be won thrice in succession before it becomes -the property of a successful competitor. The YVaimato 'Rugby Fourths, who won the, Hikaka Memorial Cup outright, it was reported, had re-donated it as a perpetual challenge cup. This action met with hearty approval. A hearty vote ol -thanks was passed to- the ladies and -the outgoing officers for -all the good work done by them during the past year. A vote of thanks -to- the chair concluded -the meeting.
